Odio il rosa
It’s summer and Violante is getting ready to take part in a breakdancing competition at a beach campsite. At 8 years old, she has clear ideas about what she likes, sports and superheroes. And also about what she doesn’t like, which are all those things that are associated with femininity. ‘Who says that girls aren’t strong,’ asks her father. Silvia and Mauro, his parents, respectfully accompany the growth of a boy who does not conform to gender mandates.
Girls & the party
A group of friends are getting ready to go to a party. In a cramped washroom, they apply make-up while chatting. And although the conversation is about the boys they like, Mercedes and Julia start to feel attracted to each other.
Darío
Dario is a boy from Barraquilla (Colombia) who loves to dance but has to hide from his mother, who is afraid that he is not ‘a real man’. Against his wishes, Darío wants to participate with his group in the carnival parade; to realise his dream, he has to disobey the gender mandates he has been brought up with.
