Panòptic PRO

Meeting of professionals with a critical perspective

30th May at 16:30 h – M|A|C Prison

Free entry with prior booking

Panòptic PRO is a meeting place for professionals, programmers, curators and cultural managers with Catalan audiovisual and digital creators and artists. This year the Panòptic comes with a new special programme aimed at articulating the professional and educational sector of film and art with a critical and transformative perspective.

In 2023 and 2024 we have attended several informal meetings between professionals of the digital, audiovisual and cultural sector of the Maresme and we have detected the need to contribute to the gestation of such a meeting space in this territory. In close collaboration with other entities, we want to start building this space to strengthen the cultural, associative and professional fabric of the local digital and audiovisual culture.

This initiative is being launched with the sixth edition of the festival, curated by the Panòptic and the audiovisual production cooperative CLACK. Specifically, we present a double session of conferences with leading professionals from the national audiovisual sector. The aim of this activity is to generate a space for artistic contamination and exchange of knowledge to promote the professionalisation of our talent as well as its visibility and mobility.

The Mobile Social Congress is a space promoted by SETEM Catalonia, within the framework of the Just Electronics campaign, for meeting, reflection and raising public awareness about the model of consumption and production of electronic devices and information and communication technologies.

Roc Parés, research artist in interactive communication. His artistic works are characterised by poetic and critical experimentation with new technologies, avoiding technosolutionist approaches and instead focusing on observing how we communicate with these technologies. Since 1995, he has been a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Communication at the UPF. He has presented his pieces in venues such as the CCCB, the Joan Miró Foundation, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Tate Gallery (London), the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Spanish Cultural Centre in Mexico, among many others. Roc Parés participates as an artist in the Panòptic 2024 exhibition The Transparent Factory.

Marc Villanueva Mir develops his artistic activity in the field of performing arts, understood in a broad sense. He is particularly interested in the idea of play and its possibilities for artistic research, as well as in the performativity of science, literature and digital technologies. He has presented his projects in contexts such as the TNT Festival (Terrassa), the Fast Forward Festival (Dresden) or the Schaubude (Berlin), and has been artist-in-residence in spaces such as the Santa Mònica arts centre, the Teatre Lliure or the Frankfurt LAB. He is also the curator of the Panòptic 2024 exhibition The Transparent Factory.
